Hi Folks,
Just purchased a D51855 framing nailer & noticed a small, round cap w/hole in it on the right side of the gun, on the bottom of nail canister. It has an arrow on it, and, when one pulls on it, it pops off, but can then be put back on easily. Any ideas what the purpose of this item is? I have read through the manual & can find nothing.
Thanks in advance!

If I am understanding you correctly, it sound's like a nomar pad. You slide it over the teeth on the contact trip, it prevent's you from marring up delicate surfaces.

Thought that might be it's use. Doesn't seem to fit on very well, though. Can't wait to get some nails & try this thing out!
Thanks for the reply!
