I was hoping that I could buy a dead tool and 2 dead batteries that go with it.  I want to buy it strictly to trade it in for a Dewalt 20 volt  combo kit.  I have a local store that is doing a trade in promotion.  I could give up to $20 for the dead tool and dead batteries.

A couple different stores in Kansas.  I think dewalt is doing this in response to milwaukee's similar promotion so this might not be isolated to just my area.

I might try to find something out for you in the next couple of days if I can make it to the store I was going to buy from.  The milwaukee promotion officially starts in February so maybe that has something to do with it.  I have seen a few stores locally offering a free battery with a 20 volt kit which is about the same thing as $100 instant rebate.  I might ask the store whether this tool promotion will give me the free battery and the $100 discount.  Heck, if they won't do both, I might as well just buy the kit now and get the free battery since that is the same thing as a $100 bonus.  I am worried that they might not offer both because places like toolup.com just took their free battery promotion off of the 20 volt tools.

Rural King ran a promotion like this back in December.  I think it was $50 off indvidual tools and the compact combo kits and $75 off the big drills and combo kits.

I found a little more out about the promotion here locally.  It gives a free battery and a free tool or money with a mail in rebate.  This promotion is an awesome deal.
