DEWALT® Launches New 20 Volt MAX* Compact Lithium Ion 3/8-Inch Impact Wrench with Hog Ring Anvil for Optimal Performance on Mid-Range Fastening Applications
TOWSON, Md. (Feb. 7, 2012) – Today, DEWALT announces the launch of its 20 Volt MAX* Compact 3/8-inch Impact Wrench with Hog Ring Anvil (DCF883L2). The tool’s compact size (5.7 inches) and lightweight design (3.4 pounds) provides mechanical contractors, plumbers, automotive mechanics, maintenance professionals and remodelers with an ergonomic fastening solution that can fit into tight spaces.

The DCF883L2 includes several innovative features that are designed to increase productivity on the job. These features include three LED lights with a 20-second delay that provide visibility without shadows in dark work areas, fuel gauge indicator lights that alert users when the battery needs to be recharged and a hog ring anvil for easy impact socket changes. The tool also includes a textured anti-slip grip handle for greater comfort and control.
Providing 1,560 in./lbs. of torque and 2,700 impacts per minute (IPM), the frameless motor on the DCF883L2 provides fast application speeds when performing a variety of fastening applications.
The impact wrench features a durable magnesium gear case, all-metal transmission and a heavy-duty impact mechanism, which directs torque to the fastener without added kick back.
The DCF883L2 will be available in April 2012 through industrial distributors. The product will also be available as a bare unit (DCF883B), meaning that it will come without a battery or charger. The bare unit will be available in April 2012 through industrial distributors.
The kit (DCF883L2) will feature one DCF883 20 Volt MAX* Compact Lithium Ion 3/8-inch Impact Wrench, one fast charger, two 20 Volt MAX* Lithium Ion 3.0 Ah Fuel Gauge batteries and a kit box. The DCF883L2 is expected to retail for approximately $269.00. The bare tool (DCF883B) will retail for approximately $129.00. Additionally, the tool will come with a three-year limited warranty, one-year free service contract and 90-day money-back guarantee.
