ASIDE FROM A FEW MINOR CHANGES, LIKE THE 1/4" QUICK CONNECT, AND THE ANVIL HOUSING PLASTIC COVER, AND THE COLOR. THE MAKITA BTD141 IS IDENTICAL TO THE BTD142 EXTERNALLY. INTERNALLY THE MAKITA BTD141 HAS A DIFFERENT ARMATURE, AND MAGNET. THE DIFFERENCE BEING AN ADDITIONAL 50 IN LBS OF TORQUE. THE MAKITA BTD141 HAS 1280 IN LBS, AND THE BTD142 HAS 1330 IN LBS OF TORQUE.

EVERY SINGLE PART IS INTERCHANGABLE BETWEEN THE TWO EXCEPT FOR THE PLASTIC ANVIL COVER. SOME HOW THE MAKITA BTD142 IS SLIGHTLY LIGHTER THAN THE MAKITA BTD141?

BOTH IMPACT DRIVERS ACCEPT THE MAKITA 1.5ah, AND THE 3.0ah LITHIUM ION BATTERIES.

Hi ,
I think that you will find that the BTD141 has the 1330lbs of torque as to the BTD142 (1280lbs) can you confirm this , as all other info on these two impacts state this ?

Fantastic job you did on that to show all the inter changeable parts.  Awesome pics.
Well done !!!

It will be interesting to see if you think the extra 50 pounds of torque is an accurate rating or even a noticeable difference.

I Wouldn`t be surprised if it`s advertising BS and they are the same or so close it doesn`t matter.

I`ve tried BTD140, BTD141 , BTP140 and BTD144 all with the same screw, side by side, but never had a 142 to test out along with.  So your results will be interesting to me.
I tell people usually to stay away from the 142 and just get a 141 or 144.  I was under the impression these were a home handy man version of the LXT tools.  But i see it`s not really.  Very interesting.

Wondering why they even bothered to make this tool besides the colour ?
Since they have BTD140 and BTD141 already identical.   BTD140 gets sold in the U.K. and Here in Aus.  The U.S. gets BTD141.

Besides BTD144 and BTP140, which are use full functioning different models.
There doesn`t seem to be any point to have 3 others that are all essentially the same ?

I`m told they`ll stop making BTD140 at some stage soon but at the moment they have all 3 as current production models i think.
BTD140, BTD141, BTD142.  All pretty much the same.
