Hi all,
I have a new DEWALT DC 722 with the conmpact Li-Ion battery (1.1Ah) and an older Makita with a compact Li-Ion battery. I had a look inside the batteries and it looks like that both DeWALT and MAKITA get´s the same cells Sony US 18650 VT in the MAKITA and US 18650 FT in the DeWALT cells, did anybody now´s more about the diff. between these two cells?
- What is the chemistry of the cells ?
- Did they get the same capacity?
- Any information about the life cycles?
Many thanks ind advance
Cheers
Reiner

JC, you can't lump the BMS price into the cell price. For example VT cells in Bosch are self-balancing and require a very primitive BMS. The 36v BMS in Dewalt or the 4v Milwaukee screwdriver have state-of-the-art BMSes. (Milwaukee one is in the driver itself).
PS: Thanks for the forum link. I will add you to my blog links.
