Your "Inside the Drill" posts are GREAT!

I have not seen or used this exact Bosch drill as of yet, but it looks like a brute from the pics.  How does the quality of the parts compare to the DC927 and DCD950?

Not so sure I agree with the "brute" term just yet? It's much different from the first Bosch Brute 13618 I owned. I bought it after watching a Rep throw it off a 3 story scaffolding with no damage. Weight and Ergonimcs have changed in the newer model. But the clamshell is very soft. The quality in the transmission is comparable to the DC927, but nowhere close to the DCD950. You can see that the bosch trigger switch is not impressive. It's hard to say much about the motor since it's a can unit. The bosch transmission shifter is much like that found on other makers, also like the DC720. Usually a style associated with compact drills. These however are just my thoughts, I am no engineer.

I'm not sure I agree about the new Brute either.  I still have my Bosch 13618, second set of brushes, just won't die.  Been very much abused, dropped off roofs, etc.  I don't think the new stuff is quite the same, maybe from any brand.
