hi I have a dewalt dw 566 sds drill which is a great drill but when used on chisel it spins with ease , could anyone tell me if this is possible to repair and is it possible for me to do

It is repairable, I myself feel very comfortable taking tools apart. I would not however tear into a hammer of any type. To many moving parts. I would take it into your local DeWalt service center and have it checked out. Depending on your local service center,  you can sometimes call into a tech and they can walk you through a repair if you attempt to do it yourself.
