Hi my names Damian from melbourne Australia. Im a ebay seller and sell alot of DeWalt tools and just got my first shipment of the DCD950's. When I opened one of the boxes I got one of the drills out and tryed to put a XRP battery in it but it didnt fit. Mind you this battery was sitting under a Metabo rotary hammer drill that was in a draw and had been kicked around abit and that made me wonder that maybe the battery i was trying was damaged. The DCD does take XRP batterys doesnt it?

You are using a DeWalt 18 volt XRP (model # DC9096) battery?

something is going on with your battery.

XRP dc9096 batteries fit that tool. I have one here, i sell them too and they definitely fit an XRP yellow top.
Looks messy with the li-ion base though but it fits.
