It appears Makita has come out with a new white compact Drill/Driver. Looks like it has more torque, lighter weight and more compact. It has a different chuck, black clutch ring instead of silver, and they have added more air holes for better air flow. They also changed the rubber grip. Makita claim's this is a better grip style. I have held both in my hand and have to disagree! The vertical arch slits in the pistol grip dig into your hand, and leaves little to desire in comfort! They should have left the grip alone.

I have the BDF452HW.  One of the compact batteries went bad just after a year.

I had to go back to using my old Makita 18 volt Model 6347DWDE.

I'm in the market for a new cordless drill so I'm in the research phase right now. 
I can say that my choice will not be the LXFD01CW. 

The Dewalt DCD950KX 18volt  is looking pretty good.
