I just purchased a DeWalt DC823 3/8" impact driver. My immediate need is to drive screws with a 1/4" hex bit. Concurrent with the impact driver I also purchased a Milwaukee Shockwave 3/8" square to 1/4" hex adapter. Unfortunately I find the impact driver has a hog ring anvil while the Shockwave adapter has a detent socket. I haven't tried to force it on, but it looks like it won't fit. I am really surprised DeWalt doesn't make an adapter to go from 3/8" square to 1/4" hex. Any suggestions?

Sorry, my bad. Shortly after I posted I contacted Milwaukee's technical support line. They are very helpful. As it turns out I simply wasn't using enough force to seat the Shockwave adapter unto the Dewalt driver anvil. It fits fine and will give me exactly what I want - an impact driver that is versatile for use with 3/8" sockets and 1/4" hex bits.

I apologize for this unnecessary post but perhaps it will aid some other user.
