 I wish Dewalt incorporate a magnetic tray on its drills as the Ryobi does.  I found it very useful to park screws.
Anybody who used a Ryobi dill agree?

It's patented.  The 20v (18v XR) has it in the UK where the patent does not apply.

The 18v lithium batteries have a small magnet on top, powerful enough to maybe hold a very small screw Smiley

It's actually there as a identifier, I believe it let's the charger know it's charging a lithium battery.

if you are a DIYr, you can buy a powerful small magnet and epoxy it like so....

If you are a hard core do it yourselfer, you can get a hold of a broken computer hard drive and get the powerful magnet outs and do something like this... FYI, you can get the magnet out from the base by carefully wedging a flat head screw driver and taping it...



note, I don't have it this way just saying.

For the 20v max line, you could try and order the specific part from an European dealer.
The partnumber for the bit holder is N095778.
The screw (M3x10) is partnumber N042665.
