Anybody have any ideas whether or not Dewalt plan on making a new cordless mitre saw or was the success of the 24v to much to handle hence it being discontinued.

I'm not really sure what you mean about the 24v system, but that is an older system that is now discontinued.  As far as a battery powered miter saw, I would not hold your breath.  I am not speaking with any "future project " knowledge on behalf of DeWALT, but I would be VERY surprised if we launched a cordless miter saw, as the runtime would be dismal.
